Breastfeeding mothers must not forget that they play many roles besides being mothers to the beloved children. They must not forget their social and legal responsibilities as well.

Equal rights seem to be the catch cry at modern workplace; that rights should not only apply to different genders, but also different workers of different industries.

There was an incident a Member of Parliament breastfed her baby in the chamber when the parliament was in session. She was asked to leave to the chamber. There are occasion when mothers breastfed their babies at public places or workplaces indiscreetly. The argument is always centred about rights, and a mother's responsibility to feed the baby when the baby is hungry.

The definition of a workplace is more than just an office, or a building enclosed by walls. A gardener's workplace is the garden, a truck driver's the driving compartment, and wait for it, a pilot's the cockpit. If all mothers are allowed to bring their babies (or children) to workplaces, the cockpit can be quite crowded if a female pilot exercises her rights and cries for equal treatment, and brings her baby or child to work. Would you feel safe, or even that tolerant to let such thing happen? By the same token, I doubt a group of tourist will allow a female tour coach driver to breastfeed her baby while she is at work, meaning driving the coach.

I rest my case.
